Research experience
1996–2003 — Original basic research in biochemistry and molecular biology with Yie-Hwa Chang, Ph.D.
- Work on the molecular mechanism of angiogenesis and the role of neovascularization in the pathogenesis of cancer.
- Downstream substrates of methionine aminopeptidase, the target of the anti-angiogenesis compound TNP-470.
- Co-invented a dominant-negative mutant of type II methionine aminopeptidase (patent filed). The construct was of interest as a possible anti-cancer reagent and as a screen for novel drugs.
